2008 Duke Farmers' Market Dates

The lavender farm will participate in the Friday lunch time (11 am - 2 pm) Duke Farmers' Market in Durham, NC on the following dates:

April 11, 18 & 25

May 2, 9, 23 & 30

June 6

September 12 & 26

11am - 2pm

DIRECTIONS: The Duke Farmers’ Market is located at Duke Hospital between the main hospital and the clinics in the Medical Center Book Store parking lot. To find this lot, from the main parking deck, enter the main hospital entrance. Walk towards the elevators. Go around them to your right down the windowed hallway. At the end of this hall, take the double doors to your right on to the covered walkway. Pass the Medical Center Library on your right and look to your right for our purple tent, banners and signage. See you there!!

Come visit the farm on Saturdays from 6 am to noon at the Greensboro Farmers' Curb Market on the following dates:

April 5      Spring Opening with Seedlings.

April 26    Herb Festival. (I'll be indoors.)

May 3      Get sweetly fragrant lavender Mother's Day gifts.

May 31     Stock up for summer gift giving.

September 6      Fall is a wonderful time to plant lavender. (HURRICANE OR TROPICAL STORM HANNA HAS ENCOURAGED US TO CANCEL. SEE YOU IN OCTOBER.)

October 4      Fall planting clinic with lots of seedlings.

November 1      The best gift selection for the holidays.

DIRECTIONS: Near downtown Greensboro at 501 Yanceyville Street across from the old War Memorial Baseball Stadium.

March 22      Spring Opening with Seedlings and Easter basket goodies.

April 19      More seedlings and Spring Gifts of Sweet Lavender.

May 10      Get local lavender Mother's Day Gifts and lavender plants.

September 20      Fall is a wonderful time to plant lavender.

October 18      Last of the fall plants and pre holiday sale.

DIRECTIONS: Located in the heart of historic Hillsborough, NC in the SunTrust parking lot on N. Churton Street. Parking street side or across the street in the public lot next to the Police Station. This is the 20 year old, established Farmers' Market!

November 21 - December 27. The 21st Annual Holiday Gift Invitational "Christmas at Captain White's". This is a wonderful opportunity to shop locally, support the art community, and artists from across the southeast, including your local lavender farm. Set in the historic Captain James and Emma Holt White House, home of the Alamance County Arts Council, the doors will open to shoppers beginning Friday, November 21. It is an honor to offer our lavender at this event with a portion of the sales to benefit the Arts Council. Located at 213 South Main Street in Graham, NC. For more information, call 336.226.4495.

Friday, November 21. 6 am - 6 pm. Roy's Folks Crafts Fair in High Point. This is the 7th annual show that features exclusively people featured as "Roy's Folks" on WGHP-TV. This event benefits the "Gifts for Kids" campaign, that provides Christmas gifts for over fifteen thousand needy children in several surrounding counties. SAVE THE DATE FOR JUNE, 2009. Bring a friend, gardening pal or come solo! Just 2.5 hours up Hwy 29N from the farm, join us at Pharsalia, a private home and historic treasure, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia near Wintergreen resort. (See more at pharsaliaevents.com.) Tour with our host, Foxie Morgan, the many buildings and gardens on this former plantation built in 1814. Hands-on lavender demonstrations with the many varieties of lavender and their versatile uses. While our Virginia lavender is in full bloom, participate in a fresh lavender wreath workshop or maybe smaller items are up your alley? Weave a fresh lavender wand, basket, braided mini wreath or other small craft. A third workshop is offered this year -- create a fresh floral display using lavender and the many blooming wonders from Pharsalia's gardens. Learn all about lavender from the garden to its therapeutic uses. Savor a fresh garden lunch featuring lavender enhanced delicacies and just take in this unique and lovely setting open for special events only.
